• December 14th Paramount released True Grit (1969) on Blu-Ray. Also we are having the True Grit (1969) Blu-Ray Giveaway. • Just a little reminder that December 22, 2010 is an important date. First on Turner Classic Movies (TCM) channel will be 24 Hours of John Wayne, click link to download the video excerpt from TCM Now Playing and this link is for a list and times of all these films.
  

• Also this date is the opening of the new True Grit (2010) film, click this link to go back to my homepage to view the trailer.
  

  As most of you are aware True Grit (2010) being made by the Coen brothers and to be released on December 22, 2010. The producers include Steven Spielberg and Scott Rudin. The film stars Jeff Bridges as Rooster Cogburn, Matt Damon as Texas Ranger LeBeouf, Josh Brolin as Tom Chaney, Barry Pepper as Lucky Ned Pepper, and Hailee Steinfeld as Mattie Ross. By the looks of the trailer it appears to be a more serious film that the Duke version, but I hear there are many comedic touches. It is supposedly truer to the original book by Charles Portis. I would like to hear from you concerning your thoughts about this film being made and comparison of the two films after you have seen the new one.   The production has a good pedigree with directors, producers, writers, stars, and the song is a Johnny Cash tune, that have suceeded in the past. Read to your hearts content before you see the film, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Winnipeg Free Press, Entertainment Weekly, Variety, Times Colonist, Intellectual Conservative, Box Office Magazine, and the True Grit Official Site.
