In January, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) showed several of the "Screen Directors Playhouse" TV dramas, produced by (and filmed at) the Hal Roach Studio, one of the very best of the 1950s anthology TV series. It featured an A-list of the best directors and actors working in films at that time. The best episode is probably "Rookie of the Year", (aired December 7, 1955), starring John Wayne and directed by John Ford: both making their dramic TV debuts.
For those of you that missed that airing, and several of you did as I noticed by my feedback, have I got a treat for you. On my You Tube channel I have posted this half-hour episode in two parts, check it out. This is something that has not been shown or available in many years. It stars John Wayne, Ward Bond, Vera Miles, Patrick Wayne, James Gleason and Willis Bouchy.
