As many of you know May 26th is the day that John Wayne was born and this year Turner Classic Movies TV channel will be having a seven film tribute. CLICK HERE for the films that will be showing.
- This month three John Wayne films were released on DVD for the first time. On May 4th
Back to Bataan (1945) and Flying Leathernecks (1951) were released. On May 11th Three Faces West (1940) was released and The Spoilers (1942) will be released on June 1st.

Existing copies of THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY on VHS tape are still going for a high price on eBay, from $100 - $200. But all is not lost, last December there was an article in Daily Variety announcing that Gretchen Wayne, Michael's widow, had made a deal to update and restore THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY and ISLAND IN THE SKY. CLICK HERE to read the Variety article. The release should be sometime later this year. Stay tuned, as soon as I hear anything about this I will pass it on.

Those of you that haven't visited the COMANCHE STALLION website can do so by clicking the name. Harry Carey Jr is to produce and star in this feature. Please visit the website and be sure to sign his guest book so he can know what you think of this project. Others in the cast are Sam Elliott, Kathrine Ross, Robert Carradine, Rance Howard, and James Arness. Filming will begin this summer in Monument Valley and Texas.
