Actor James Arness passed away on June 3, 2011. He was a co-star with John Wayne in four films, Big Jim McLain (1952), Hondo (1953), Island In The Sky (1953), and The Sea Chase (1955). He also starred in a film produced by John Wayne's company Batjac Productions in 1956. The film was Gun The Man Down, it co-starred Robert Wilke, Harry Carey Jr, Emile Meyer, Don Megowan, Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez and introducing Angie Dickenson. The screenplay was written by Burt Kennedy and it was directed by Andrew V. McLaglen. I have posted an artice about James Arness on my blog,Classic Cinema by Newt, I hope you will check it out.
