I just wanted to update you on the happenings at Newt's John Wayne Site. CLICK HERE for a list of films starring John Wayne on TV showing this month.

• On June 6, 2006 from Warner Brothers there was a major DVD release. Please check the Warner Home Video release page for specifics, special features and selected film clips of this release. The John Wayne/John Ford Film Collection - This 10-disc set includes The Searchers (1956): 50th Anniversary Ultimate Two-Disc Special Edition, Stagecoach (1939): Two-Disc Special Edition , Fort Apache (1948), The Long Voyage Home (1940), The Wings of Eagles (1957), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949), They Were Expendable (1945) and 3 Godfathers (1948). These films are all in this set or they can be purchased individually, just click the links.

• The big news this time is a new contest. Even though the John Wayne/John Ford Film Collection has been out for over a month, Warner Home Video has agreed to offer one set as a prize. My surgery about six weeks ago prevented me from moving on this earlier. Anyway, the contest is a trivia with multiple choice and fill-in questions. Also added to the DVD set I will put in a U.S. Postal Service First Day Cover of the John Wayne stamp issued on September 9, 2004 plus a U.S. Postal Service lapel pin of that stamp. So get over to the John Wayne/John Ford Film Collection Contest and enter. Members of this mailing list are the first to be notified of this contest.
