• First of all I want to let you know the results and answers to THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY DVD CONTEST, just click the link. Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you to Paramount Home Entertainment for providing the DVDs.
  

• Those of you who have seen or will soon see The High and the Mighty, 2 Disc Special Collectors Edition DVD, please send me your comments about the film and the special features. Use the comments link at the bottom of this newsletter, the link is also near the bottom of every page on the site.
  

• There have been quite a few internet articles about The High and the Mighty DVD release, here are some for you to check out:
  

  From the USA Today on August 1, Can the Duke blaze a DVD trail? asks the question of how these new DVDs will fare in the marketplace.
  

  The Des Moines Register had a small article on August 2, The High and the Mighty" and "Island in the Sky" released on DVD.
  

  The Pittsburgn Tribune-Review film critic, Ed Blanks, had a good review on August 6, High and the Mighty' fills gap in John Wayne film collections.
  

  Of course, all things cannot be always positive. It is only fair to hear the other side of any debate. The review by the DVD Savant from dvdtalk.com of The High and the Mighty, is just such a review.
  

• The next Batjac releases by Paramount Home Entertainment is Hondo (1953) and McLintock! (1963). These DVDs will be released on October 11, 2005. They can be pre-ordered now, just click the links and check them out. When I hear more about the special features on these Special Collectors Editons, you will be the first to know.
