I just wanted to update you on the happenings at Newt's John Wayne Site.

• "GET IT DONE, JOHNNY REB." That line is from the film RIO GRANDE (1950), the third film in John Ford's Cavalry Trilogy. I am announcing the Rio Grande Trivia Contest.
  The winner of this contest will be awarded a new, sealed DVD of Rio Grande - The Collectors Edition. Click here to find out information about this DVD release.
  The winner will be announced on April 1, 2004. This gives everyone plenty of time to enter. The winner will be determined by a blind drawing if there is a tie for the most correct answers. • It is almost December and less than a month until Christmas. Now is the time to search for that perfect gift for the John Wayne fan on your Christmas list. Check out the John Wayne Store for many gifts such as books, videos, DVDs, pictures, posters, and collectibles of John Wayne and his co-stars. A new section to the store is Western Film Books. This section is a selection of books dealing with the western film exclusively. Also check out Newt's Movie Store for all things movie.
  

• Existing copies of THE HIGH AND THE MIGHTY on VHS tape are still going for a high price on eBay. The latest one was $97.56, this auction had 17 bids with nearly 500 hits. This just goes to show that there is a lot of interest in this film. Until the Wayne family has this film remastered and released to home video this remains the only way one can get a version of this film.
